let's go now to jens korte on wall street. the u.s.lashed with other g 20 members on a variety of issues. but this is supposed to be supported by private investments. do you see u.s. companies heavily supporting african nations? jens: you don't have to ask the current government for more aid. when it comes to u.s. cooperation there is a willingness from infrastructure companies, energy, oil, gas, some telecommunication, social media companies who are willing to spend. but if you look at general -- in general at u.s. and african trade relations, if you look at the sub sahara zone, roughly trade in the amount of $40 billion. china come in comparison, is having -- china, in comparison, is $300 billion. the u.s. in general probably has not been that strong in africa in the past couple years. we will see that is going to change in the near future. javier: we certainly will. in the meantime, the second date in a row with a selloff of tech companies. what is happening there? jens: pressure continues. nobody knows for sure what is going on. ye

jens: yeah, he would, probably.eporter: food production puts a strain on the environment, and emits large amounts of co2. a real turnaround would be to reduce the amount of food produced, not just redistribute it, as selina juul also recognizes. selina: the wefood store, it's a great, great, great initiative, but it does not address the root cause. and the root cause is that there's still a lot of food being produced and overproduced. so basically, the ideal scenario is that the wefood store is closed because there's not enough surplus produced for the wefood store. reporter: still, there has been a change in mindset in denmark, if a modest one. wastage rates in the country have fallen by 25% in the last decade -- a personal victory for juul. she traces her commitment to her youth at the end of the soviet union. selina: communism collapsed. there were food shortages in the stores. the stores were basically empty. so, we wasted no food because basically there was no food to be wasted. we had huge respect for food. so

jens: yes.as been concern that the selloff in technology shares could also marked the end of the bull market overall for wall street. but after two weekdays, we now saw a rebound in tech stocks. tuesday gained 2.7%. fundamentally, nothing really has changed. some of those tech names are still pretty expensive. the ministry of finance came out with a 149-page paper, how to reform the financial reform of barack obama, that might have given an extra push. javier: that is as investors prepare for the next decision of the u.s. federal reserve which started its two-day meeting this tuesday. what can we expect there? jens: well, it is pretty clear that the federal is going to increase interest rates for a second time this year. at would also mark the third increase in the past seven months. there is no doubt about that. the big question is, when will the next rate increase happen? will we see one more or two more this year? then what happens to all the treasuries that the federal reserve is holding? $4

jens: i actually doubt it. look at the coal industry. especially because the president mentioned it so often. the u.s. coal industry, roughly 65,000 people employed. in the united states, that is really not much. if he's going to push harder for the coal industry, automation plays a big part in that industry already so it will probably not create thousands of new jobs as donald trump promised with his words. i'm rather skeptical. if you look at renewable energies, most jobs in the written -- most jobs in the energy field in the past few years have been created in solar and the wind turbine industries. to say that jobs would be lost if the u.s. remained in the paris agreement is rather doubtful. i'm skeptical if this decision really will create as many jobs as the president promises. helena: jens korte in new york for us. good to talk to you. anchor: the u.s. president may have announced that he is taking america out of the paris climate accord and that he plans to give a leg up to the coal industry, but how easy will it really be for com

i'm cheryl jennings.ou know, communities across the bay area are facing issues of hunger every single day. it affects children, seniors, people with steady jobs, and so many more. according to the five bay area food banks, almost 800,000 people use their services every month. now, overall, these food banks distribute more than 170 million pounds of food to those in need every year. it's interesting to note that more than half of the total pounds of food distributed is actually fresh produce. i am proud to say that abc7's parent company, disney, is committed to fighting hunger. this past year disney donated $1.5 million to the feeding america network of food banks, and this means that each of our local food banks in the network received $15,000 from disney and abc7 to continue their important efforts. right now we have a local story of a young person making a difference. the city of san jose is teaming up with a south bay teenager to fight hunger. kiran sridhar founded waste no food, a website and an app t

jens: yes.ly nothing happened, but then when the press conference happened, things started to move here -- moved. technology shares were hurt a bit. their shares are pretty sensitive to monetary policy. the main statement from janet yellen, i believe, was that she tries to start bringing down the huge balance sheet. we have to look at the 2008 when we were in the midst of the financial crisis. money markets froze and in the federal reserve started to buy treasuries. they now own treasuries in the amount of 4.5 billion -- $4.5 trillion. now janet yellen things they should start selling the papers relatively soon and that made investors nervous. the industrial average was another record high. some movement in the currency market, especially with technology shares. javier: let's talk about janet yellen for a minute. her term ends in 2018. she was asked if she was good to stay and she did not answer. what does this tell us? jens: officially her term ends at the end of january of 2018. recently there
