you could see jen psaki, the new white house press secretary, using her state department experience to try to be diplomatic. you know, from the previous administration. the obama administration. $ $ $1.9. getting aid to state and locals is a bipartisan issue. the republicans oppose some of this. opposed during the trump administration when the house tried to have the state and local funding. joe biden has to get in a room. this is where it's really interesting to see. joe biden thinks we can go back to the old way. in the old days if you were a democratic president, if you could peel off republican-leaning groups like the chamber of commerce, get all the mayors, if you could get some republican governors involved, sort of do an end-around of the national republicans in washington, can joe biden put together one of those old coalitions to get some of it? the question is where is he willing to give? where's he willing to give? a lot of republicans are critical of democratic governors and democratic mayors who have their schools closed. can joe biden say i want to re-open schools? we're o

jen psaki was asked about that. the speed at which president biden is moving ahead with executive orders and the potential for them to be undone in previous administrations. what is the argument that the white house is making generally and broadly about why they are pushing ahead with so many executive orders right out the gate? >> yeah. the white house continues to say because of the collision of crises confronting this country, they had to do all of these executive actions in the early days. today may have been one of the last of those that we are expecting to see for some time with the exception of immigration being a large day. we speck to see some executive action on that. that is being pushed now to next week. the biden campaign said they would come out with a lot of executive actions. and as jake knows so well, they're having a lot more difficulty with legislation, trying to pursue this bipartisan route but only being able to have success so far with the unilateral action. >> all right. thank you both for sta
