that's our show for today, i'm jen rogers in for ali velshi. thanks for joining us. >> it's a weekday morning in new york city and a line forms well before doors open at this east harlem food pantry. the people waiting for food range from young mothers to older people on fixed incomes. inside the pantry, the number of people needing food is only growing. congress cut 5 billion dollars from "s.n.a.p." or the "supplemental nutrition assistance program" in late 2013; because of that, the new york common pantry, one of the largest in new york - serving 3 million meals annually, reports a 26% increase in recipients in the last year. new york ranked 4 in a recent survey of cities around the globe with the highest percentage of millionaires. joel berg, who heads the new york coalition against hunger says, as the city gets wealthier, demand at the 1000 plus food kitchens he represents is only increasing. >> well when neighborhoods gentrify, the demand goes up because rent is the single greatest cost that low income people face and if they can't afford

jen rogers from "real money" has more on what this means for the company. jen? >> well, it is a big deal for metlife, it's official determination came out from the financial stability oversight council saying it's so important. you may know it by the shorthand that we use: too big to fail. metlife is so critical to the financial infrastructure that under dodd-frank it could be held to higher standards in terms of the capitol it's required to have and disclosures it needs to make and even government supervision. that sounds like a lot of red tape, it is and that's not what any ceo wants. it's not surprising that metlife has come out and said, wait a minute. it doesn't think that it has met the criteria and the decision will amen competition, lead to higher prices and less choice for consumers. but they are worried about metlife's derivatives and large scale decisions that could lead to 2008, which everyone is trying to avoid. >> now that they know how insurance and finances can be tied together through insurance-backed securities, what does it mean for metlife? >

[music] >> more dramatic plot twist today in the ongoing hollywood saga of sony versus north korea. first the u.s. government today officially pointed the finger at north korea, blaming the country for hacking in to sony pictures entertainment. in a statement the fbi, quote, had enough information to conclude that the north korean government is responsible for these actions. well, as almost everyone knows by now those actions exposed tens of thousands of private sony e-mails. the hackers also threatened violence against theaters, which led sony to cancel the release of the interview. that's the comedy about the assassination of kim jong-un. and president obama said that sony made a mistake in canceling the movie. he said that the united states would respond to north korea, but he did not say how or when. for more we go to randall pinkston. >> reporter: jen, the fbi said that other corporations have suffered from cyber intrusions, but nothing like what happened to sony last month. the
