. >> you are jen z. drop out of college, started your own company and your company talks to people about how to reach people just like you, generation z. what are some of the big things you tell brands who want to get to sell to someone like you? >> the biggest thing is gen z grew up on their smart phones and social media so they can see through the bs very quickly. they will immediately skip through ads, they are just in tune with identifying what's an ad and what's not. that's why people have to -- or brands have to have more native ads and ugc. >> what about influencers who get paid, does the bs button go up for that or not? >> gen z can identify if it's a product placement or sponsorship and ftc is cracking down on making sure that the influencers are showing that it's a sponsored post. kids can see through that. some influencers who don't have the right partnerships and try to make as money as possible will build a poor brand over the years because their fans will see that they are just selling out.

z? it's how he operates. >> jen, you hear from phillip bump there of the "washington post" saying they're reporting tonight he at least had a conversation with mattis about kind of laying the ground work. we have seen this with trump before where you're seeing the policy play out in realtime, right? >> sure. >> even the discussions that might normally have been confined to the situation room, they're right out there in public. is that what we're seeing here? >> i think we're clearly seeing an element of that. obviously there have been discussions about what they're going to do in syria. the big problem is this is not a joke. this shouldn't be talked about flippantly at a campaign event. this is a serious foreign policy decision that impacts the security of the united states, impacts our partners and allies. as you've been talking about on your show, there are serious implications about our withdrawal, including the rise of iran in russia, other proxies that are even more problematic. it's not clear even from his riff at the campaign event that he has an understanding of that, and that is
