on mornings on two, we did speak with the interim mayor, kevin jenkins, who said he will focus on making sure the city delivers core mandated services. >> we are going to have to make some tough cuts, right? we're going to have to tighten our belts, but also we have a sales tax coming on the ballot april 15th and conservative years. it will bring in $21 million a year, and good years will bring in $30 million a year. and so that will definitely help us balance the budget and help get rid of the structural deficit. >> mayor jenkins said he is working with the finance department to present a budget on may 1st. that will include cuts that are yet to be determined. he said that those cuts will not affect police, fire or 911. the superintendent of the san francisco unified school district is expected to outline her plan at tonight's board meeting. now, this plan will address bridging a $114 million budget deficit without having to close any schools. it is a tall task for superintendent maria icu, who has only been on the job here for four months. she's telling us that in order to balance the

jenkins says the city needs to focus more on the basics. so his plan will prioritize. he says public safety and fiscal solvency. also happening today in the east bay, alameda county superior court workers are continuing their strike for what they say are unfair labor practices after a full day on the picket lines on wednesday, the workers say court management still isn't hearing what they have to say. court management, though, says the county is overstaffed by nearly 100 people. but a union analysis shows that alameda county lags behind similar jurisdictions in san francisco and l a in a statement kron for news this morning. the court said, quote, although the union claims it's concerned about public safety, it has refused. the courts repeated efforts to mediate these matters before neutral mediators and has instead. has chosen to critically endangered the public's access to justice by choosing to strike, end quote. now, this second day of strike could hold trials and delay hearings throughout the justice system in alameda county. we'll take a break at 10 11. still ahe
