this is in norristown, in lansdale, doylestown, jenkintown.ll be hopping into riverside and trenton in just a little bit. just a couple sprinkles left over. let's take a look outside and see what it looks like right now and, hey, the clouds are trying to break a little. that's a good sign, isn't it? as we look up above the commodore barry bridge. we'll see a good amount of clouds to start us off today and the after will be a bit brighter. it's kind of a day of transition. but mostly dry today. so, the temperature currently is only 69 degrees. it's on the cool side this morning. the dewpoint 65. the winds out of the west-northwest, they're going to help to dry things out for us today. the pressure is holding steady and the ocean temperature is 72. here's satellite and radar. you can see the bulk of the moisture is not in our area, it's down in virginia and down in richmond and that's kind of pushing off the coastline. we just have a few sprinkles that are clipping our coast and a couple of sprinkles are heading through the city right now. lots

we can show you the rainfall rates and you can see that rainfall here just to the east of jenkintown-inch its per hour so that's torrential rain. anyone who is driving in it, it's a good yessed to -- idea to pull over. this line extends down to the south and i am tracking this batch of thunderstorms right now. we can flip this back over, it's moving out of maryland. this has a lot of lightning. this is heading into new castle and the kent county, delaware and that will also be moving into salem and cumberland county. ray takes a lot of great drone shots captured this over chalfont today and you can see that very vivid cloud to ground lightning strike and these can strike about 10 miles in advance of a storm so if you're out and about, you hear that thunder get inside even before it starts raining. what the rain is doing is cooling off the air at least temporarily. ahead of it we have heat indices near 100. behind it though we have heat indices in the 70's. so, it feels a lot cooler once the storms roll through, kind of cool off the atmosphere, evaporative cooling. this line of shores
