jennair went over to her house. there was a confrontation.ed in, and that began a moment of shock. i saw meredith face down on her kitchen floor and i noticed a pool of blood that was forming around her head. i stood up and i pivoted to my left and that's when i saw another figure laying there. >> it was jennair. >> i screamed and ran to her. and i just said to her, baby, what have you done what have you done? >> and police putting the pieces of that puzzle together, that crime scene together, ultimately realizing that jennair had, in fact, shot meredith and then killed herself. the families of these two women understandably have not yet commented because it's all still too raw. this happened just a little over a year ago, and so i think everyone who was affected is still in a state of shock at this point because it really wasn't anything that anyone anticipated or thought was even possible. >> wow. what a story. >> yeah, in some ways it's surprising to hear from him. >> it is very surprising. >> you're going to have more on "20/20." it airs
