police released this picture of jennie zhu.as driving 80 miles per hour when she slammed into the back of a car killing a teenage boy inside. ktvu's david stevenson is here with more about the suspect. >> we expect to speak to the father of the slain teen here at his son's high school. this comes as we learn more about the suspect in the crash, including her driving record. >> reporter: san francisco police identified the woman behind the wheel of the deadly crash as 58-year-old jennie zhu. police booked her saturday on one charge of vehicle manslaughter not involving drugs or alcohol with gross negligence and associated vehicle code violation. she posted $300,000 bail. her neighbors are finding the news hard to take. >> horrible it is a -- you know, not -- not the way -- >> reporter: police say jennie zhu was driving at speeds up to 80s miles per hour when she rear ended a van killing a student. >> everybody feels grief. >> reporter: the teen's mother remains in critical condition. his sister was released sunday in good condit

this is 58-year-old jennie zhu, the woman accused by police of traveling at a high rate of speed for several blocks. they say close to 80 miles per hour before she crashed her silver mercedes into a mini van that killed 16-year-old kevin san and injured his mother and sister along with three others in another car in san francisco. we have not been able to confirm she was -- we have been able to confirm she was taken into custody on bail after the incident but posted bail, was released on saturday. 11:00 a.m. we did stop by her house but nobody answered the door. neighbors say they barely knew her. it's not clear when her arraignment will be but she faces vehicular manslaughter charges. police also say she was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol when she crashed. lots of unanswered questions on why she allegedly traveled fast. meantime students at lincoln high say the whole incident is surreal. >> kevin is completely innocent. you kind of just hope for something like -- he provoked something but he is completely innocent. it just makes you feel a lot more angry about her killi

>> reporter: sources inside the sheriff's department told me that 58-year-old jenny zhu has been arrestedf vehicular manslaughter. she did post bail last night. we're not sure how much the amount was. she's not in jail here. we came to the outer sunset district to a home we believe was hers. she knocked on the door. she did not answer. obviously people have a lot of questions for her, including the friends of kevin sand. he was the one killed in the car crash early friday morning. police believe zhu is responsible. people left flowers on the corner of pine and gough. police say zhu was driving at speeds up to 80 miles an hour in a silver mercedes suv for three entire city plox before she rear ended the victim's van. three other people in a catering van were hurt. sand was a junior at lincoln high school where he was a member of the rotc drum corps. there is there will be a display set up all week long to honor him. witnesses say zhu got out of the car, fell hadder to knees -- fell to her knees and grabbed her head. she was taken to the hospital and treated and released the same day. this
