let's go over to meteorologist jennifer delgado standing by at the cnn international weather center. , is it looking good? >> we are still looking at showers on the radar. but overall, we are going to see some improvement as we go into the afternoon. as i show you on the radar right now, we don't have any watches, but still dealing with some rain. you can see even snow out there. we'll continue to see that precipitation as we go through about the next six to eight hours out there. and then as we go later into the day, we're certainly going to see improvement, cooler air behind that. but still through parts of new england, they're going to be dealing with some snow out there. we're talking some locations picking up possibly we're talking about six to eight inches of snowfall. about one-third of a meter of snowfall through parts of new england. so still tricky delays out there and still a lot of flights are backed up from cancellations from tuesday's and monday's bad weather. as we look across parts of europe, we've been talking about northwest europe and how they've been dealing with f

jennifer delgado is standing by at the weather center. , i was in cannes myself a couple days ago. the weather was great. but it seems to have soured. >> ali velshi said it's raining over there. we're expecting heavier rainfall to work in as we go through today as well as tomorrow. here is the forecast. high temperatures 18 degrees with the storm clouds around. the would be is all this heavy rainfall coming from a frontal system. area of low pressure bringing a good amount of moisture. that means more of this rain is going to be causing problems with some flash flooding as well as mudslides. the area that's going to be under the gun for this. we're talking about the south of france as well as western parts of itly, this is the moist air that will be coming through and bringing 100 millimeters with rainfall. with the threat of flash flooding, that's certainly enough to make sure to be cautious out there. the other big story we're following is coming out of the u.s., out of parts of colorado, wyoming and kansas, this area picked up a good am

jennifer delgado standing by at the cnn international weather center with amazing video as the storm in down under. jennifer? >> that's right, nina. the storms were quite wicked. reportedly a tornado touched down in an area just to the south of melbourne. as we go over to the video, let's show you the storms as they rolled in. luckily, there was video capturing this. you can see the lightning, the clouds starting to lower and extremely heavy rainfall. some locations they picked up about 25 millimeters of rainfall, roughly about an inch in an hour and very bad conditions there. homes were damaged. power was out and apparently two-thirds of the local emergency entity was called into action as those storms rolled through parts of melbourne as well as other areas, including victoria. as i take you over and show you on the satellite, things look quieter. we have an area of low pressure down to the south that's moving through. that will bring a chance of showers through parts of melbourne. other than that we're not expecting much. the storms have certainly weakened. it looks like as we go t

meteorologist jennifer delgado is at the cnn desk with more on a tropical cyclone spinning in the arabian sea. >> i have to tell you, i've never heard of that one-arm bandit move. >> that's what they're called in vegas. >> i've never heard that. i like the slot machines. it's easy. put a few coins in there and all of a sudden you're broke. let's talk more about the tropical cyclone on a serious note. we have a system spinning in the arabian sea off the coast of oman. it is a tropical storm, but the problem is, over the last couple of hours, we've seen a bit of weakening, but it's still been producing heavy rainfall in addition to strong winds. it's going to continue to sit and spin as we go through the next couple of days. as i show you on the graphic, just barely a tropical storm. winds at 65 kph. as i put this into motion, it's not going to be moving very much over the next several days. 72 hours out, you can see right near central yemen off coast. so anywhere along this path, we're going to be dealing with the heavier precipitation. the problem is, a very arid, dry climate. and that is
