fox 29's jennifer joyce in the news room with more on the investigation, jennifer, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, chris and lauren. new information overnight gun hand has been identified as, christopher harper mercer. nine people dead, seven more injured, police say the the shooter stormed umpqua community college in roseberg oregon just after 10:30 yesterday morning and went on a rampage. witnesses, reporting that the attacker demanded to know the student's religion before shooting them. one student said that she was inside the classroom next door to where the shooting happen, they heard a loud bang that sounded like a ruler hitting a chalkboard but it was loud enough to make opportunities jump. after it happened a couple more times her teacher walk next door, knocked next door and then came rapping gunfire. >> and she opened door and said is everyone okay over there. as soon as she said that, multiple shots were fired, and when she turned and looked at the classroom, the the look on her face was enough to know something was wrong. i don't know, it is had hard to explain. when she

let's head out to fox 29's jennifer joyce now at police headquarters with the latest on this, jennifer, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, that's right, police are telling us 50 shots fired the day before, upward of 50 shots fired again last night. we know that three people were shot in the area. two are injured. one is dead. police working to figure out how all of this unfolded around 9:30 last night. two people were found shot at sixth and ritner street. one person was taken to jefferson hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg, and he's in stable condition. the other person, possibly a 19 year old male, was dead at the scene. he had a gunshot wound to the head, and was found lying on the ground, with a gun in his right hand. subsequently, a third person showed up to methodist hospital and is believed he was involved in the same shoot-out. however, police still working to confirm that information. the victim had a gunshot wound to the arm. several cars were found shot up in the area, as bullets flew. police also tell us that there was a shooting at the staple location the night

jennifer joyce is in jobstown with the details, hi there, jenny. >> reporter: good morning, lauren. the springfield township fire chief says robert lipincott was a member here and fire fighter for more than 50 years. this year current members are honoring his life. police say it was a freak accident. lipincott was killed yesterday afternoon when the lawn mower he was riding in his jobs town home burst into flames. how this all happened is still not yet known. springfield township fire chief says lipincott was a retired fire fighter with the department. he also work for township's emergency management the office and served as a senior instructor at the burlington county fire academy. this was a man who dedicated his life to the community, and it is not the first time that this fire company has dealt with the loss. >> it is second time now we have had something that has been fire related with a member. you sit here and they are like a fire fighter and people ask you all the time how does that happy was a fire fighter? sometimes you cannot control when the things are going to happen. >
