we continue our conversation about women in politics with jennifer lawless, author first, what did you of the kamala harris pick this week. : it was a strong and safe pick. she has the credentials that joe biden needs. she has a campaign style that voters are excited about. it is going to give donald trump a tough run. host: you said strong and safe. what do you mean by safe? guest: i mean that when you look at the list of the potential contenders for vice president, several had liabilities. every vice president a candidate has a liability. kamala harris seemed to be easy to address on the campaign trail. when you look around and think about who the most obvious choice was and the choice whose strengths clearly outweighed her weaknesses, kamala harris was at the top of thet.
