jennifer mitchell has details. >> reporter: at a flu clinic in alexandria, virginia, dozens of people were vaccinated today against the seasonal flu. government officials announced they are seeing record numbers of cases of the h1n1 inflnz a. numbers that are unusually high for this early in the flu season. >> 3.6% of outpatient visits are for influenza-like activities. that's much greater than we would usually see this time of year. >> reporter: clinical trials testing the vaccine for swine flu are showing promise. many healthy adults are gaining protection from one dose of the vaccine instead of two. and the immune response is happening quicker than first expected. >> these vaccines are well tolerated and induce a strong immune response in most healthy adults when given in the single 15 microgram dose. >> reporter: a single dose would mean more people could be immunized sooner. that would be welcome news to health officials in texas, who expect to receive more than a million doses a week of the swine flu vaccine, but not until october. >> we are in a pandemic issue. i think there's

mitchell, thanks for the call. let's bring in jenniferant, family law attorney and mike brooks with us, as well. jennifer, what could child protective services be thinking here, a mom and dad, no history of abuse and you are going to yank the kids for these pictures? >> right. i mean, i put the blame totally on child protective services. they are the professionals here and should be able to distinguish between innocent family photos and those that are those of a predator. they could have dissolved this situation so quickly by going to the house and seeing what this family was all, about maybe talking to some relatives or friends, neighbors. i mean, this could have been done with in a matter of an hour, you know, but yet they carried it on and took these children away. >> in one day. >> such an extreme measure for something totally unfounded. >> ease we found out from the grandmother happened in one day, she show up and a few hours later the kids are gone. >> that's not bad enough but then they kept the children out of the parents' custody
