again it's easy to spread even from children who might not have any symptoms. 10news reporter jennifer titus is getting answers tonight about what policies are in place to inform parents about illnesses in the classroom. >> this started after a facebook post from a concerned parent who wanted know when school should inform them after we got to the bottom of it. >> i would say most definitely, yes. >> reporter: many parents said they want to know. after two children at lake view elementary school in sarasota had confirmed cases of hand, foot, and mouth disease, a viral illness that spreads easily through coughing and sneezing. >> i could have kept my kids home from school or at least been a little bit better informed. >> reporter: the that's not the policy. they were notified by the children's parents and then the school alerted teachers, but not other parents. the reason? says hand, foot, and mouth disease is not a virus that needs to be reported to parents according to the florida department of health. >> i think that that's probably something that needs to be looked into. >> reporter: we c
