the san francisco school board will propose a new civility code for board members board president jenny lambsul of others, observance of laws and rules and effective communication. and this comes after a tumultuous year for the board that saw three of its members recalled. today's board meeting will be the first with the three new board members that the mayor appointed earlier this month. and the san francisco unified school district says it's planning some changes in school lottery program. the current program allows parents to cheese, whichever school they want in the city and then enter a lottery for their children to be admitted. that lottery system will be changing in just two years. starting in 2024. the district will only allow families to pick from about a dozen schools that are close to their homes. the benefits of that, or that it increases proximity for families, so they'll be guaranteed to go to a school that's much closer to their house and increases predictability. they'll definitely get one of those 12 schools we want assign them somewhere across town, and it increases diversit
