jeremy has just launched a firm called the house fund to focus on investing and startups from his alma mater. they just raised $6 million from a group of tech names. i sat downberkeley has been so overlooked. why berkeley, why just berkeley? >> we started the house fund, the first fund focused exclusively on berkeley startups. i recently graduated from berkeley in december 2014, and i spent the last five years building infrastructure to support entrepreneurs on the berkeley campus. emily: how is the university cooperating with your fund? >> it is set up outside of the university but supports it, and we have had tremendous support. i have worked the last five years with faculty and we have accelerators focused on verticals. we have over half a million alumni and over 35,000 students so you have this vibrant ecosystem. emily: is the university getting equity stakes in these companies? >> not currently, but we are going to give a big portion of the upside to support entrepreneurship on campus. we are already supporting a number of startups today and have made six investments. emily: stanford has been criticized for being too friendly to entrepreneurs, perhaps t
