( justine ) it appears california is not about to switch to a single-payer health care system. a bill has made its way through the legislature... but some lawmakers are saying it is lacking some key elements and at this point... there is no way it can pass in its current form. for one, it does not address how the state will pay for it. it estimated a single-payer plan would cost california 500-billion dollars a year. some possible ways to fund a plan include taxes and getting assistance from the federal government.
