has seen it all, concert promoter, producer of the "ocean 11" film series and philanthropist jerry weintraub joins us. his new memoir is "when i stop talking you'll know i'm dead, use full stories from a persuasive man." jerry, wonderful to have you on the program. >> thank you so much. >> congratulations on the book what. a career. i'm so excited to have you because your music and your film career spans generations. >> yeah. >> and it's really -- the stories in the book are so real and authentic, sinatra, led zeppelin, brad pitt. what made you decide to write this book and tell these stories now? >> well, i'm 72 years old now and it was time. i tried this when i was 40. i got one chapter done. >> and you had to go on the road again. >> i couldn't find a bok. i got calls from a lot of publishers over the years and they wanted the book and i -- i never found anybody when i thought i could work with and real get the story down. i didn't just want to tell the stories. first of all, there are too many stories, volumes of stories, number one, and number two, i wanted it to be like a conversation

but first, before guantanamo the trip to the war zone he sat down with jerry weintraub for a look atpicture. you and george clooney and he writes from here on i'm going to model my life after yours, you are the best and i'm proud to call you my grandpa, love george. you always said that relationships are the only thing that matter in life and in business. is that how you built an incredible franchise, getting george clooney and brad pitt and matt damon to star in your movies, is it because of a relationship? >> first of all, i'm older than all those stars you are talking about and so i learned a lot from the people who were older than me when i was a kid and then i learned try to teach the people with me and have a relationship with the people with me, the actors that george clooney and brad pitt and matt damon, et cetera. it as trusting relationship because i don't treat them like children. >> geraldo: how do you convince them, julia roberts to work in one of your movies for far below what they usually command. >> julia roberts was interesting. we con vined her simply, even soderber
