now the city's handing out bottled water. new jerseyities announced yesterday that they are working with federal officials to determine just how widespread the problem is. and, today, an environmental group is in court asking a federal judge to give bottled was you are to more residents. nbc's kathy park joins us now from the scene in newark where she's been talking to the parties involved. kathy, for people who haven't been following the story, this is mind-boggling. it's 2019. we've already seen a problem like this in this country. how does this get solved, what's happening to solve this problem? >> reporter: ali, good afternoon to you. i think that really is a big question. that's the frustration for so many of the residents here in newark. thousands of them have been told ever since last week that there is some questionable levels of lead in their water. so we have been out to these distribution centers and lines are forming at times, and they have two case quota that they can essentially bring bottled water to their homes. but thes
