i will describe what i found in jerusalem in a second. i have all this great material and it turns out only a fraction of that winds up in a 64 minute film. i was anxious and restless sitting for a couple of years on this incredible story, this incredible material, i am proud of the film but it really scratches the surface in terms of the broader story and i knew i had this story that went well beyond one couple and what they did. i mentioned what was going on in the united states at the time. i always knew i had a story to tell about america at this time and what to individuals had to combat not just in nazi germany but with their own government and even other jewish organizations and individuals who objected to what gilbert and eleanor with doing. some of that is alluded to in the film but only in the pages of the book that you can really get into the meat of that and take advantage of that panoply of rich materiel and the broader story and quite honestly i do think the book also provides a much fuller portrait of who these people were,
