abc9's jess plue was in dakota county district court today for the verdict. jess: tim, russel roberts junior was sentenced today after a fatal car accident two years ago when roberts drove tiffany schmitt and two others home from a bar. roberts was found guilty of vehicular homicide in the death of tiffany schmitt... and two counts of driving under the influence resulting in serious bodily harm of two of the other passengers. jess: according to court documents, roberts was intoxicated and speeding which caused him to lose control of the vehicle.. the car crashed and overturned in rural dakota county schmitts family was in the courtroom awaiting roberts sentencing.
