let's go to nbc 10's jesse gary live on the scene on south 4th street. jesse? >> that partial collapse ended just as i was ending my last report. you can see the brick on the corner of south 4th and spruce all over the ground. that came from the side of the building, the left side of the building that is still burning right now.ç as we were wrapping up, a couple of firefighters were standing on that corner when that collapse happened. they jumped out of the way just before the brick hit them. there were no injuries but it was pretty close. they are still continuing to douse this building, one of two that are on fire, to try and keep it from jumping further down the block. you can hear the alarms ringing in the background. they have water shooting down on to the fire and up on to the fire from the ground with multiple fire engines here in this two-alarm fire. we'll get more information and have it for you in the next couple of minutes. live in camden, jesse gary, nbc 10 news. >> keep us posted. >>> an idaho woman had a close call with lightning this week and he

nbc 10's jesse gary has been there live all morning. bring us up to speed, jesse. >> reporter: tracy, they continue to douse this corner of the building with water. we've been here for well over an hour and they've continuously put water on this corner because of hot spots that keep cropping up. every now and again, it will look like the fire is completely out. it will start to glow orange, on that top floor where you see the hose spraying water. that's the problem area. it started at south 4th and spruce here in camden. there was a partial building collapse that nearly injured a couple of firefighters. take a listen. >> good god. >> reporter: and that was part of the roof of the building crashing to the ground. those firefighters were able to leap out of the way before the bricks and the debris landed on top of them. come back live, you can see this aerial hose they were using to shoot down on to the building. now they're shooting directly into the wind did he to try and knock out some of the interior hot spots on the second floor and

 suspect, let's go to jesse gary, who's live in olney right now. jesse? >> reporter: katy, police officials say a graze wound to the head could have easily been a kill shot to the head had the suspect's aim been more true. let's take a look at our video. the initial call was a philadelphia cop shot in the head. that brought a fast and emotional response from other officers. commissioner ramsey says officer korpalski will be on injured leave until he recovers from his wounds. and the 15th district vet will also go for counseling following what commissioner says is a traumatic experience. >> we don't start our day wanting to shoot or hurt anybody. but when you have a situation like that, it is something that we don't take for granted. the officer's ability to bounce back, the resiliency, it is a traumatic incident. we need to treat it as such. >> reporter: a total of four officers, katy said, returned fire, killing the suspect. all four will go for counseling before they come back on duty. coming up in the next 30 minutes, the hazards that these officers fa

nbc 10's jesse gary is live there. jesse, you've been able to take a look at the damage there. how are things looking now? >> chris, the water has receded. you can seeç why people were forced from their homes. a total of four homes, been affected by these floodwaters. you can see how high the water still is in this basement. i've been told there's a woman sleeping in the basement. when those floodwaters came, they collapsed a wall which fell on to her. she's been rushed to cooper hospital with broken bones. i believe broken ribs. we're trying to get an update on her condition. this is all a result of the heavy overnight rains. we have terry moleda who lives here and says it was a deluge. >> flooded earlier and then it receded. we get flooded quite a bit. it receded, the sky opened up again and that's when it all let loose. >> reporter: gas company crews are still on scene, trying to shut off service to several homes where there are gas leaks. they have done two and are working on a third. you can see off in the distance. i'll get an update and have that for you coming up in th

nbc 10's jesse gary live outside the hospital where that officer is still being treated. jesse? >> yes, that's right, chris. we talked about the graze wound to his head. the bullet came about this far, a quarter inch to the right from being just a graze wound to being a fatal head shot. that according to the police department. let's take a look at the video when officers arrived here at the medical center. they heard the initial report of an officer being hit in the head. there was a fast response and emotional response here at the hospital by other officers. commissioner ramsey says stephen korpalski will be on injured leave until he recovers from his wounds and the district veteran will go for counseling following what the commissioner says is a traumatic experience. >> we don't start our day wanting to shoot or hurt anybody. but when you have a situation like that, it is something that we don't take for granted, the officer's ability to bounce back, the resiliency, it is a traumatic incident and we need to treat it as such. >> korpalski was not the only officer to return fire

and that's what i did. >> reverend jesse jackson was just on this program as an exclusive. dr. king, do you think that his presence at these type of tragedies helps or hurts? >> well, i think it's very important at this time not to challenge those who are attempting to help no matter what the reason or the method happens to be. it's more important to focus on the family who is grieving, the people who have actually been terrorized by those tactics of -- i think it was a military presence that really alarmed people. so rather than to challenge anything that reverend jackson is doing, i think it's very important to continue to urge for prayer, peaceful resolution. michael, his dreams are dead. and that's very, very sad. and i am saddened by that, but i'm encouraged by the reports that the young people especially are beginning to pray. >> do you think that the cops have behaved appropriately in ferguson? >> i believe it's very disturbing and surprising to know that the police officers have reacted the way they did. i do think the action of the governor was very helpful and to repl
