joyce explai explains. >> reporter: philadelphia police say at least two men attempted to rob miss jesse's stop and shop on south 12th street monday morning. all one of them made it out alive. the store owner opened fire on the would be robbers. >> there was some type of struggle over a firearm and at that point in time one of the male suspects was shot and killed. the other suspect was apprehended by police. >> reporter: lieutenant stanford says there's no indication that the shop owner knew the suspect. but self described community activist louis hannibal says the owner of the store is well known. >> i've been neighborhood all their lives. they always have businesses and restaurants in this neighborho neighborhood. >> reporter: police say two guns were recovered from the scene. it's not clear who the guns belonged to. the owner report suspects. own are in was brought in for questioning. police say it's too early in the investigation to know if he could be charged. >> fenn four tells us the man police arrest ready likely face charges much he is not hurt. >> george washington university the latest school t
