i'm jessica aguirre. >> and i'm raj mathai. he's one of the fortunate 57, suspected criminals free to go. sfpd unlocking the jail cells and letting them walk. this comes in the wake of a growing scandal alleging officer misconduct. 36 cases were dropped today, totaling 57 cases, which have now been thrown out. and keep in mind just last year hundreds of other cases were also thrown out because of a drug lab zmanld san francisco as well. nbc bay area's jean elle tracking this story. it seems like the only people benefiting here are the ones getting the free pass out of jail. >> reporter: well, raj, the sheriff's department says it go: word around 2:00 this afternoon that as many as 36 inmates would be released due to this police scandal. and those inmates are starting to trickle out this door here at the jail. we just talked with an inmate named anthony marshall. he was just released. he says an undercover unit set him up on a bogus robbery charge. he says he's relieved to be out jail.1: but police commissioners are concerned. t

we use already about 20% of our energy, jessica, from nuclear energy. that's a lot. france uses nuclear energy for 80% of its electricity. so other nations use more. but we are reliant, there's no question about it. we've got 104 nuclear plants. that's about a quarter of all the world's nuclear plants. we haven't added one since 1996. one is under construction. two dozen right now, are in the hot bed, as far as permit applications and other things that lead up to construction. a very long process. two plants in california. one was put to bed so to speak, rancho sanco, near sacramento. so we've got an interest in nuclear energy here, there's no question about it. it's part of our let's call it power dna. >> we also have a very uneasy relationship with nuclear power. because of the earthquake situation. and because of anti-nuclear protest as well. how, in terms of it's such a tricky issue, there's a lot of potential things here at work. >> there's a lot of things caught up here. it's not an easy sell so to speak for three big reasons. cost, safety and demand for energy

i'm jessica files and second year learning specialist at city arts and tech high school. i support students who struggle academically and implement their education plan. i choose to work at c.a.t. because i'm inspired by a community of educators that is committed and willing to support students who sometimes struggle the most in a full inclusion environment. i meet with teachers weekly to discuss how best to support students. we do this by reaccommodations and modifications, lesson plans, i.e.p. goals. we have an open dial owing with students and work together to discuss what we can do to make them successful. i'm continually impressed by how teachers will dialogue, take feedback, modify a lesson, try a new strategy and work to improve their practice in order to ensure that the students succeed. we look at objectives. we look at what's needed for the course and do what we need in order to make it a good match for their learning style. thank you.
