jessica flores reports. >> reporter: good morning, michelle. these complaints come just as tesla is under fire for a series of crashes. these groups say that tesla is excessively advertising their autopilot feature making it seem as if the autopilot feature is safer than it really is. they are filing a complaint with ftc and dmv wanting state and federal regulators to get involved. the complaint says that tesla marketing and elon musk statements make it appear as if the vehicles are capable of self-driving even though manuals say that drivers must keep their hands on the wheel and maintain control of the car even in autopilot mode and tesla has been under scrutiny following a series of crashes. the latest in laguna beach where a model s ran into a police officer's car that was parked. that officer was not inside at the time. the driver of the tesla walked away with minor injuries. but back in march, an apple engineer was killed when his model s crashed into a barrier on 101 in mountain view. in utah another crash involving a tesla on autopilot.

jessica. >>> reporter: kenny, that meeting just got out at 2:30 a.m. and this is an issue that certainly has divided the community. hundreds of folks coming out to speak on both sides about this controversial sex education program. after 10 hours in the meeting, the vote finally came down. the board made a decision. they decided to adopt the new curriculum for grades 7 through 9. they voted 3-2 against adopting the new program for grades 4 through 6. that means elementary school children will not be getting sex education this year. the controversial sex education program is known as the three r's, standing for rights, respect and responsibility. it was set to be introduced beginning in the fourth grade. parents against the curriculum say it's too graphic. it teaches about sexual orientation, gender identity and rape. but the group in support of the new sex education says it teaches acceptance because it's lgbtq-inclusive. hundreds of parents and community members filled the meeting from both sides. >> this community claims to respect the concerns of th
