. >> i'm jessica aguirre. in the outside bay crews are battling a brush fire. you are looking at live picture. 2 acres have burned. we are talking about three springs road. we have a crew on the way to the scene. let's go to jeff ranieri with more on the conditions. an extremely hot day but it has cooled down some. >> and the underlying cause is this three-year drought. everything is extremely bone dry. we had humidities in the teens today and this fire location happening in the eastern foothills. as i check the winds, speeds out of the north, northwest at 7 miles an hour. but the firefighters are going to be dealing with winds that gust up to 15 miles an hour and blowing smoke pushing off to the south. it's a higher terrain anywhere from 1500 to 2500 feet. the firefighters will have to deal with that steep terrain. it is available from our downtown camera which is 15 to 25 miles away and the thing about this fire is is it in the perfect conditions for this to potentially grow with how dry it has been. we will continue to track this fire and all the conditions
