i'm jessica aguirre. >> and i'm raj mathai. it's happening more and more especially in california. drug addicts going straight to the source targeting pharmacies to get their fix. the latest attack happened at a walgreens on the peninsula right there on el camino real in san mateo. chuck, what do we know about the suspect and, more importantly, how is the pharmacist? >> reporter: the pharmacist is not harmed physically, but she was very shaken by what police describe as a very desperate act. we're at the intersection of el camino real and 41st avenue here in san mateo. i went inside and spoke with some of the pharmacy technicians. they told me they've seen suspicious people before but nothing like this. a man calmly walks into the walgreens yesterday. he waits until there's just one technician at the counter. the man then jumped over it, pulls out a knife, and hold it to the technician's neck demanding, according to police, a prescription painkiller. the pharmacist gives it to the suspect who lets go of the technician and very calmly the suspect walks out of the store. he's describ

. >> i'm jessica aguirre. it's another hit on the utility's commitment to safety and security.ate today, state regulators fine pg&e for failing to safety maintain its electric substation in south san jose. tony kovaleski joins us and the fine follows your investigation that questioned the substations. >> reporter: clearly another hit on the credibility. our investigation tested claims by pg&e that safety and security were a priority at its electric substations. last august, this is what happened. this is what led to the fine. burglars cut their way through wire fencing and stole expensive equipment from inside the facility. the break-in went undetected for more than five hours by the promised enhanced security system. in the report issued today, despite multiple alarms sounding during the time of the break-in and theft, security personnel were not aware of the break-in and days after our investigation, we got this response from the director of security. has pg&e done enough to protect another

. >>> good evening, i'm jessica aguirre. >>> i'm raj mathai. last week the questionable death of that inmate in a santa clara jail. now the fallout. three correctional officers had search warrants served at their homes. senior investigative reporter steven stock has more on this. steve, this is just the beginning it seems. >> that's right, raj. we learned that the man who died in santa clara county jail just last thursday night had a long history of mental health illnesses. according to the dock toumt from santa clara superior court that we obtained today, the man's name is michael tyree. he was 31 years old and tyree weighed 150 pound. he was very small. he was being housed on the special needs floor of the jail. the irony, tyree was in santa clara county jail on a petty theft misdemeanor where he was sentenced to just five days. he had already, in fact, been given credit for time served. he had served his time already. he was well-known in the court and the jail community. in fact, he had been arrested on these exact same charges and given th
