jessica boyington, we'll have the latest with what's happening on i-95. we'll start with nbc10, pamela osborne live at the scene in old city. pamela, give us an update? >> reporter: vai, it started with a minor accident and ends up with a major crash here on the southbound lanes. take a look, police are blocking off the southbound lanes. if you look down there, you'll see one of our news photographers, he watched this accident unfold this morning and was able to get some pretty incredible video of the crash you'll see only on nbc10. the ladder 16 fire truck, we know, was pulled over on the far left lane. there was a finer accident there. a vehicle accident they were responding to. the tractser trailer hit into that fire truck. five firefighters were injured. they were transported to hahnemann hospital. we're told by fire officials they have nonlife-threatening injuries. the driver of the truck was also reported as nonlife-threatening injuries. he's reporting at jefferson. a tow truck driver just arrived on the scene a short time ago. but on the underside

not to worry, jessica boyington is jessica boyingtoning us live.checking the roadways for us. >> checking 42 at 20 minutes to 7:00. what are you seeing on 42? >> the roads right now in our cameras around creek road, look drier than what we were looking at earlier, the schuylkill, 202 and parts of 422. even with these drier conditions were we're seeing more volume heading into the philadelphia area. that's what we're looking at here, creek road on the northbound side. heavy heading into the city from new jersey. the blue route around baltimore pike, a disabled vehicle in the shoulder just moved out of the way. not causing problems north or southbound on the blue route. there's an accident in cheltenham avenue and mountain avenue. in the next ten minutes i'll check in with more rainy cameras and have an update on mass transit. >>> nbc 10 responds to a viewer with a wireless data plan problem. >> i don't need an internet. they said if i want to cancel the internet i need to cancel everything and i said okay. >> that's what this woman said she did but

and we're going to toss things back to the studio, jessica boyington is standing by. jessica, i know you've been monitoring this, there's a pretty significant backup because of this accident even at this hour, jessica. >> right, you said it best. pretty significant is backup. we're looking at it right around 95 and the ben franklin bridge area. traffic is at a complete standstill right now. your best best is to avoid 95 at all costs. northbound lanes are open. southbound side completely closed approaching that scene. you can see on the map system, a delay behind that, your best bet, get off at girard avenue. we're not seeing any backups there. we do have that triple threat, which means with the closure, close it right before the vine street expressway. the vine street expressway was closed with that construction. we're starting to see cars flow back through. this is what i'm hoping will start to happen, what we can do, some of this traffic thinned out here, they can let traffic diverted off the vine street expressway headed westbound here. you can see just removed that

jessica boyington has been following the "first alert" traffic center. jessica, the latest. >> that's right, bill, we're watching breaking news, as rain moved through this area around a2:00, this accident also occurred, an overturned truck carrying a load filled with pennies. there's pennies all over the road. if you look up closely, you can see a little sparkle of the pennies all over the place. you can see a lot of crew here on the scene. they also have to get the truck back up on its feet, so to speak. and then we also have to get all of these lanes back open with the debris. and again, it's new castle. we can go to the maps here and take a look at what the delay looks like behind the scenes. all traffic right now being diverted off at airport road. right before this scene at route 141. seeing pretty massive delays because of it. once you get off on airport road. it's going to be a sticky detour because of big delays behind it. either way, you're stuck in pretty big delays. you can jump on 495 and access 95 that way especially headed northbound and try

nbc 10 first alert traffic reporter jessica boyington has more on what drivers are doing right now. jessica, what can you tell us? >> we see improvements here on the scene and with the traffic and backup for drivers as well. right now what you need to know is the blue route is shut down between villanova and conshohocken. we're looking at our cameras around county line road. this is what's left of the accident scene. we're clearing out of the way. there's an accident investigation as we could see this sit here for a little bit of time. the traffic that was backed up behind the scene that wasn't able to get off, eventually they let all of that traffic head on to the southbound side and escape this backup. with traffic still not being able to get by the scene, they're diverting it off around exit 13, which is lancaster avenue. that's right down in here. you can see the closure up towards the schuylkill expressway. once you get off lancaster avenue, make a left, you'll get on to king of prussia road and make a right on to matsonford road. that will take you back up to the schuylkill exp

let's get another check of i-95 southbound. >> yeah, jessica boyington has been keeping an eye on all of the traffic cameras to give you the latest information. jessica, what are you seeing? >> right. well, we're watching a live picture right now from the scene of this accident scene. earlier this morning, we had word of people being stuck for two hours right now. we had an accident scene involving a tractor trailer and a fire truck. on the scene here, lane is still blocked. at least by that scene at that point, they let all the cars move through. one car at the time moving through that area. just for the people backed up just behind the scene. now, there are still major backups that we're observing in our cameras right here, right around girard avenue that we're looking at right now. quite a ways away. you can see traffic still at a crawl and they're divesting off of that area as well. allows it through the scene at the time. if you have to catch a flight at the philadelphia international airport, you're going to see delays as well. callowhill exit is open. and the vine street expres
