and that's where we find abc 7 reporter jessica castro. >> reporter: i'm hard at work, reggie. i wish you were here. it's such a beautiful day in the park. it's not too cold, not too hot which is perfect for the volunteers out here. a lot of kids from the area as well as some of our own colleagues helping out. what they're doing behind me they're trying to clear this stuff away. they're trying to get this out because it's an invasive plant species. they want to protect our native plants here in san francisco to continue to have those kinds of plants, our native plants grow, that's part of the work they're doing. and it's part of the program funded through $1.5 million the disney company awarded nation would to several different programs. and it's local ones like this that benefit. 24 local ninth and tenth grade students along with abc 7 volunteers helped cleanup the bay park. olivia is one of san francisco's program designed to connect teenagers with wildlife in their communities. the kids are interviewed, selected for the program even earning a small stipend. and they do a var

i'm jessica castro. thanks for joining us. we have a better time table of when this high profile case will go to trial. amanda is in red wood city. >> reporter: two of the three suspects being charged were in court this morning including tiffany lee. the biggest development is confirmation that the trial will be delayed from september until sometime next year. for now the two men involved remain behind bars. tiy lee took no questions. the wealthy woman is being charged in the 2016 murder of keith green, her ex-boyfriend and father of her two young children. in april of 2016 green vanished after a meeting about a child custody issue. his body was later found in a field with a bullet wound through his neck. s.w.a.t. teams raided finding enough evidence. lee's former body guard was also arrested. he pleaded no contest. in february he cut a deal with the district attorney's office that could lead to prosecutors potentially dropping the murder charge against him in exchange for his truthful testimony against lee. the two men charge

i'm jessica castro from abc 7 mornings. s crash in richmond means rouble for commuters this morning. new video from overnight shows a dark-colored is sedan pinned underneath a semi truck at richmond parkway and san pablo avenue. the contra costa county sheriff's office says deputies tri tried to pull over the car, it did not stop, and it led to a pursuit. the car then ran a red light and collided with the truck. the driver was killed. chp says the intersection is blocked, so heads up if you're driving in that area. and here's alexis with more on the traffic. >> yeah, good morning, jessica. i will zoom into that stretch of that intersection that is closed in richmond. that is a pretty significant area. so ridgemont parkway closed at san pablo avenue. 15 to 20-minute delays if you're going to try to get through that area. i would stick to the 80 corridor, you're down to 28 miles an hour. but that's honestly better than those surface streets. and good news in emeryville, a westbound 80 crash at powell has fully cleared. >> alex

castro. our correspondents and specialists are also standing by with full coverage. let's begin with the verdict in the paul manafort trial. our justice correspondent jessica schneider outside the courthouse in virginia. update our viewers, jessica. what's just happened? >> reporter: wolf, paul manafort guilty on eight separate counts including bank fraud, tax fraud and hiding foreign bank accounts and when the judge informed paul manafort of this guilty verdict in part, paul manafort stared straight ahead as he stood before the judge. he did not smile. and he showed know motion. now, paul manafort, the former campaign chairman of president trump, he's now facing up to 80 years in prison. let me break it down for you. this jury found paul manafort guilty on eight of the 18 counts. five counts were tax fraud charges. one was hiding a foreign bank account and two charges they found him guilty on, bank fraud. all of those counts in total carry up to 80 years in prison. the bank fraud charges carrying 30 years each. this is a harsh reality for paul manafort, especially after four days of deliberations where his defense team showed an upbeat, positive attitude.
