the church but it's not that's just a small percentage of the church actually the true church of jesus chris is doing what the bible says in terms of living a life as consecrated as holy as they can and live for jesus as best they can and telling others which is a sense of what the gospel is david what do you tell do you do you tell your parishioners when you say when we see these i televangelists in one night do you tell your parishioners this is not the truth faith or do you say that they don't let them do what they want to do in a very relativistic way that's how they worship. how do you deal with that i think i think the persians are pretty savvy actually this particular issue but i do think it's hard to be too black and white about this i mean as i said before the issue is trying to preach the gospel in the language of the day without improving the values of the day and i think all of us are very wary rightly so about in the valleys of the day to take over but that the other dangers are equally variable that we end up speaking some secret language you know going in latin or something in

inspiration of the old and new testaments and so forth and may even reject the resurrection of jesus chris. one quick example is during the constitutional convention, you know, in this heated debate, literally and figtively, in the heat, late july, doors are boarded up to remain secret, but there's a debate going on and some of you remember this from your civics plan, the plans and compromises and this gets so heated that benjamin frankly says we have to pray, call upon god to reconcile the differences. of all people, benjamin franklin. [laughter] that's turned down by the committee and there's a great story where hamilton supposedly said i deny franklin's petition because the united states of america will not be reliant upon any foreignth hour. [laughter] whether hamilton said that or not, i don't think he did, but it's still a great line. [laughter] nevertheless, it's actually turned down not because they reject the idea. they had a minister in the congress. one of the reasons they turn it down they didn't have enough money to pay the guy to pray for them. chris: that's not exactly current science. that's religion really talking there, joe. is this goss to hurt her? >> it's not even religion. it's one form of religion. jesus never mentioned homosexuality. nor did moses, my guy. but -- chris: everybody's guy. >> on top of that, the notion of homosexuality as enslavement, what we have seen is an incredible liberation over the last 20 years. people i know who were suffering behind closed doors for a long time are now out and happy and leading productive lives. they're in the military. chris: so acceptance has become politically normal now? >> but it's important to understand this, if you're talking about the christian conservative language, bondage and enslavement are terms used all the time to refer to bing in a state of sinfulness. we hear them in a secular world having to do with slavery as we know it. we use those terms all the time. chris: she's using that language in a secular interview. she's not doing it in church. >> but she's infused with that language. >> can i say now in a general election campaign, where republicans are going to be looking, -- where republicans are going to be looking towards a
