i told the story yesterday on the floor about jesus contreras. jesus contreras was brought to the united states at the age of 6 and his family settled in houston, texas. he went to lone star college down there. again, he is undocumented, a dreamer. he finished a course of paramedic. became a licensed, certified paramedic because of daca. he happened to be there, of course, when hurricane harvey hit, working night and day, saving lives, trying to help those victims of the hurricane. there were thousands just like him, but the important part of this story is that this young man is one of those undocumented folks who really cares about the people of houston, the people of texas and america. he calls this home, and he wrote me a letter and he told me that. i read it on the floor yesterday. there are others. i want to tell you about one here today. i'm going to try to pronounce her name correctly. hemina oganava. i probably missed that, but i'm close. she came at 9 years of age to the united states from mexico city. she was raised in houston and lives
