and yet another suspect was arrested just this morning at new york's jfk airport trying to board a flight to turkey. court documents show that he considered getting a machine gun and shooting fbi agents and police officers if his plan to join isis in syria was thwarted. this all comes just hours after the fbi chief revealed his agency is investigating possible homegrown violent extremists in all 50 states. lots to discuss. joining me now, justice correspondent evan perez and former analyst, evans. >>> any time now, any moment now we expect that two of the suspects will be making their appearance here in court in brooklyn. they'll be read the charges. this investigation is far from over. the fbi started wlooklooking at these guys last year when they noticed at least one of them making threats, what appeared to be threats online in an uzbek language website where people discussed isis ideology and propaganda. that's when the fbi decided to investigate further. they introduced him to an undercover informant who was able to record some conversations with the suspects. that's one of the scary

the fbi says one of them was arrested early this morning as he was trying to board a plane at jfk airport here in new york. another one was arrested in florida and another one here in brooklyn. the allegation from the fbi is that these three were something of a network trying to get over there and join these militants in syria. now, if their plan did not succeed to join isis they also had plans to carry out terrorist attacks here in this country, perhaps attacking -- trying to kill the president of the united states or fbi agents and police officers. it's a very serious complaint against these three. and this is a really interesting case in several respects because the fbi and the national security division of the justice department have been looking to see if there are any indications of networks trying to get these people these recruits over to syria. and they haven't found it. this case presents that exact fear that they've been wondering, they've been expecting to find. >> two of these -- all of these men are residents of the united states. but two of them are citizens of uzbekistan.

one of them was arrested at jfk today. the other was to travel in late march. a third man has been arrested, also from brooklyn, accused of helping them giving them money and helping them plot all this. now, as for their talk about staging attacks here that's all that it is. they said that if they couldn't get to syria, they would do all sorts of things here. one of them said he was willing to kill the president if ordered to do so by isis. another said he would get an assault rifle and shoot police or fbi agents. they talked about putting a bomb at coney island but they never did anything. that is all talk. but the fbi monitored a lot of their discussions, including their discussion one of their discussions with a person who ran an isis website. the isis website person is saying, you know, why aren't you coming here are you unwilling to join jihad. one of these men charged today says well the fbi is on to me i have to figure out some way to sneak out of the country. so they've all been charged with material support to a terror group, namely isis. >> and how bi
