not surprisingly new york's laguardia airport hit the hardest along with newark jfk, and philadelphia internationaln's aviation correspondent rene marsh joining us live from la laguardia. what are things looking like there now? how long do you expect the disruptions to really affect us into the week? >> reporter: brianna, take a look for yourself. see on the boards there, it's pretty much lit up and all you can see is red at this hour. it didn't look like that hours ago, but now we're getting into the period of the day where nothing but cancelations the only word that we're seeing there, canceled canceled canceled. a couple of delays sprinkled in between. in a word it's pretty bad if you're trying to travel by air here. especially here at laguardia airport. from the port authority today, we just found out roughly 50% of the flights canceled and tomorrow they do not expect any flight operations going in and out of this airport. a couple of other airports that are having a rough time newark's airport, philadelphia's airport, jfk also having a rough time as this storm now makes its way in. you know th

international airport is empty. after inbound and outbound flights were cancelled. more than 7500 total flights were cancelled through today across the northeast. that includes laguardia and jfkwe have thousands of flights being cancelled and the aftermath of that to cover. let's go straight to meteorologist bill karins for the latest on the storm track. >> we're seeing the peak of the storm. the snow totals are coming as everyone is waking up. we're getting impressive reports. connecticut is the leader on the board at 26 inches of snow. now we have our first two feet snow reports coming in. just to show you what a difference it makes. central park and new york, eight inches of snow. we can drive east and get 25 inches of snow. out on cape cod, the latest was a foot and a half. i'm still waiting for boston areas. the last reports during the middle of the night towards early morning was around ten inches, but those totals have probably gone up. the storm exploded. it was just as powerful as expected. that hasn't changed. the storm was 25 to 50. that was supposed to make it to new york city. that's why new york city only got eight inches of snow instead of the double of that. p
