i'm jim hunter, thanks for joining us. this weekend, two of the young orioles starters faced adversity and both passed their recent tests. jason berken allowed back-to- back home runs in the 2nd inning to vernon wells and alex rios and quickly trailed in the game 2-0 but berken would adjust. he went six strong innings. early on, chris tillman had trouble getting loose. he felt behind early. it was two-run home run by alex rios that put the jays ahead but till mapp would not allow another run. he pitched into the 7th and took home a very tough luck no decision. joined now by buck martinez, watching these youngsters go to the mound, what we are learning is how they handling adversity. >> buck: there is no panic in any of these pitchers' minds. when they give up a run, they don't think about. they continue to make adjustments. jason berken did it friday night using his change-up instead of a slider. that's the kind of adjustments you want it see. >> jim: trying to pass a test, how about today, brian matusz goes to the mound,

jim hackett, anadarko's fabulous ceo. mr.kett, welcome back to "mad money." >> thank you, jim. >> all right, let's get right to it. there is an oddity here. natural gas under $3. your stock doing well. is that because there is a belief somewhere, somewhere within the owners of your stock, that the fortunes for natural gas are about to change in washington? >> i do. i think there's a couple combined reasons. one is that we are about 40% of oil still. >> right. >> and that does drive a fair amount of the profitability of the company as well. but two is that there is a real hope that natural gas plays a very foundational role in the future of energy for this country, which it needs to, and you have been a big proponent of that. we're finally reaching congress, finally reaching some of the decisionmakers about how important this fuel is for all of us, for a greener environment, for a substitution for foreign oil to make it more domestically secure for us as a nation. and it is also the only thing that can back up wind and solar.

>> well, jim, we believe in profitable growth.ur peers are really focused merely on growth. we believe we have to make money through the business cycle, whatever the commodity prices are. where price taker, we have no influence on commodity prices, whether it's natural gas or crude oil is, so we focus on cost. and we do a great job of focusing on costs. we're attracted to low-cost basins as well so we tend to be more developmental in nature, onshore and natural gas versus expiration in naegs, crude water and oil expiration. so you see that at the pine area, and the second area we're developing in pennsylvania. both are very low costs with high margins, even at more modest gas prices. >> michael, you would not, i believe, be drilling in the marcellus shale in pennsylvania if you didn't think -- this is my own personal view -- that we're about to get a change in washington and this natural gas fuel will be favored more than just 62% of heating american homes. >> oh, i definitely agree with you. i think we're about to see a change wh

>> that's probably a question you should pose them, jim. simple model is to continue to do the best job we can, make sure that value gets expressed in our share price, and then, frankly, others will decide, our shareholders will decide eventually what comes of that investment. but certainly it is a challenge for the larger companies. they're challenged in terms of how they are going to preserve their existing production and reserves and given the size they've grown to. sflits's literally why i'm only recommend you you and agnico. they can only buy new. there's something else that i know i happen to be a big believer in iron ore. you, too, have iron ore projects. but they're not -- you're not doing anything. >> we have a modest project in brazil which we recently completed construction on, commissioned and was ready to start operations. then we ran into the recent downturn in iron ore prices. what we've seen in the last month or so is a fairly dramatic return to levels which has frankly prompted us to reassess what we should be doing with th

back to you guys. >> jim, thank you very much. our top story this morning is still a developing one. a late-night explosion rocked a rtc.rtd.t neighborhood. he 4800 block of meade street. that's where we find matt brock with the latest details. what happened? >> it kind of scared a lot of folks last night. they heard it blocks away, this explosion. we can show you some video, but i got to be honest with you, it's pretty far back from where we are right now because they were holding everyone back. they're concerned for several reasons about this explosion from a mailbox. they were concerned there might be a secondary device somewhere else. they were also concerned a lite bit about possibly radiation. they had to do some radiation tests. so far, no word that they found anything. it's pretty clear that he probably didn't as far as radiation goes because the neighborhood is pretty much back to normal this morning, if we can come back out to our live camera. you can see here along meade street, the 4800 block, it's very quiet. that's r
