i'm jim bernard in to take a look at your weekend weather forecast. we go from winter last weekend to a summer pattern this weekend. we're just talking about patchy fog in and around the bay this morning, which should give way to some afternoon sunshine. still going to be breezy and cool across the bay this morning, but we are looking at a warming trend to carry us into next week. taking the rain out of the picture after a record-setting pace. i'm sure it won't be missed. >>> not a moment too soon. we'll check in for more a little later. >>> topping our news this morning, the latest deadly shooting in san hoe, pushing the city's murder rate to a 20- year high and we're only halfway through the year. right now, officers are searching for the person or persons involved in a shooting this morning, just before 3:00 a.m. officers found a 23-year-old man off nerdy avenue. he died at the scene. today's shooting marks the 24th homicide of the year. last year, the city saw 20 homicide cases. the contra costa times reports the city saw its highest murder rate b

. >>> we have the pride parade, alameda county fair, sports going on jim bernard what is weather going to be like for today? >> we've got sunshine coming your way for this afternoon it is already starting to break out across the city, we will give way to mostly sunny skies temperatures a degree or two warmer than yesterday but nothing dramatic we see the golden gate shrouded in low clouds and fog but that too is lifting as we speak we see breaks around the edges and for the pride parade today, mostly sunny, temperatures in the mid- 60s down on market street as the ball game as well over at at&t park, sunshine this afternoon mid-60s mostly sunny skies, inland a degree or two warmer than yesterday that will put us into the low 80s while we see the mid-70s prevailing at the bay and mid-to low 60s at the coast here. the overall pattern hasn't changed much, weather pattern disturbance going by to our north continues on shore flow across the region. low clouds back in we are seeing nice mixing by midday, leave us with plenty of afternoon sunshine here and this pattern will continue into the

. >> i'm jim bernard, in to take a look at the rain showers across the bay today. doesn't exactly feel like june, does it? >> no, not at all! it's not just a little bit. it's a lot of rain. >> we're looking at long-time records possibly falling here today, as we take a look outside, finding rain spreading throughout the bay area today. rather well-formed frontal system for this time of year, bringing, dare i say, copious amounts of rain into the bay as of about 5:00 a.m. this morning, half of an inch of rain fallen across the bay area. for most locations, a little more, of course. up in the highcountry, taking a quick look at rainfall records for june in san francisco for this date, the record is 0.49 inches. as of 4:00 a.m. in downtown, we had 0.40, so that will likely fall. notice the dates on these old records. monthly rainfall record for june, 2.57 set back in 1884. that one's been on the books a long time. not sure that's at risk yet, but we do have a very wet weekend pattern shaping up, which we'll talk more about for you, coming up in your complete forecast

jim bernard has more on what you can expect. >> reporter: and more better weather is in the forecast chance of some light showers, and a thunderstorm over the east bay hills and less rain than yesterday and looking outside. we see that. a lot of blue skies across the sky scape and over c oh it tower here and we'll look for the blue to prevail and some scattered showers moving from south to north across the region and live high-definition doppler showing the runs now and in -- showing the rains now and in the north bay and out over the east bay hills and a few lingering returns on the offshore waters, which will dissipate here and the center of circulation as we look at the satellite picture is there and south of the bay area and continuing to move through the is out. the enhandley is winding down and we saw the brunt of the moisture yesterday and we're not out of the woods yet. we'll see energy across the area and that center of circulation crosses the region. up in the high country, means snow above 8,000 feet and some showers and scattered thunderstorms throughout central californi
