joining me now, south carolina congressman jim clyburn. congressman, good morning to you, sir. >> good morning. thanks for having me. >> so do i have this right, that you guys are missing eric cantor in this process? >> i don't think so. the fact of the matter is, as you know, more than a year ago the senate sent a bill to us, a very comprehensive bill. we didn't particularly like the bill. mccall thompson amended it and that amendment is before us. i think that we could fix this thing with one additional amendment to address the changes that are bipartisan changes that people would like to see made in the 2008 law. so we could do this within 24 hours if only the speaker would allow that senate fix, comprehensive fix to move forward with the mccall-thompson proposal and with an additional amendment which i would gladly co-sponsor with any republican to fix whatever we think may be wrong with 2008 law. >> do you think there's something wrong -- let me stop you there. do you think there's something wrong with the law? what do you want to hav

this is way for a very important issue you no to be resolved in a peaceful action. >> let me go to jim clyburn. congressman clyburn, thank you for joining us. give me a sense of what you think motive is. i find this very narrow. when you good after the president's way of implementing a law, whether it is his law or a predecessor's law, it is executive management. the iron year here is this is pro business. republicans never liked the employer mandate. here is the president's charge, sued in civil court, basically, for doing what the republicans would loved to have done which is put off the employer mandate. i this i this is done in a partisan mandate. your view? >> thank you, chris. you are exactly right. you may recall the republicans voted more than 50 times at trying to eliminate certain thoughts of the affordable care act. and one of the things we wanted to do was to delay the employer mandate. and as soon as the president moves to delay it, now they are suing him for doing exactly what they suggested that he should do in order to give the businesses of the country an opportunity to prepar

congressman jim clyburn -- go ahead. >> there are several things. one, the republicans are always complaining about junk lawsuits and turning to trial lawyers and here they are bringing a lawsuit to settle what is fundamentally a political problem, which is why i think they are going to have trouble bringing it. secondly, they are suing the president for postponing the employer mandate in the health bill. they are against the employer mandate in the health bill. the president put this off to make obamacare work better to have a chance to make the employer mandate work right. and they turn around and say, we're against this whole law, we'll vote to repeal it 50 times, but you got to enforce this provision that we're against. and the third thing is, when you hear boehner saying what he says about the law, what really that leads to, the logic of that is not a lawsuit. it's impeachment but boehner doesn't want to say impeachment. he came out today and said he's against impeachment because he knows that plays very badly with the voters. and to have all o

represent and it is part of the savannah river site and i represent a portion of the site and so does jim clyburn. this is really bipartisan support of the m.o.x. facility. this facility is really crucial for environmental cleanup and very crucial to fulfill the nuclear nonproliferation agreement that we have with the russian federation. the site and it's over 60% completed. $3.9 billion has been spent. the site has such a positive impact by reducing what is already there, 34 metric tons of weapons-grade plutonium and made into green fuel. this is for nuclear production for our country. additionally, it will fulfill the agreement that we have with the russian federation to do with weapons-grade plutonium and will encourage them to do the same. this is proven technology. there has been a facility built in france already that has work.ed -- that this will and other things, we have asked nor a study that it's very clear that the most efficient and most beneficial to the american people and national security is to complete the m.o.x. facility. i yield my time. mr. simpson: how much time do i have rem
