sitting down with our jim cramer for an extended conversation guys, i will leave you with one statistichealthy, normal inventory for an automaker is 65 to 70 days supply guess how much ford's supply is right now? retail supply, 33 days and likely will be moving lower this quarter. that ultimately means, melissa, that not just ford, but the entire industry, prices are going to continue to stay high for the remainder of this year it's just an extremely tight level of inventory and that's not changing any time soon. >> phil, you have to think back to tesla's quarter and how tesla basically found other supplies of chips and avoided the impact of the chip shortage when you see ford losing 1.1 million vehicles to the chip shortage. i mean, it's just staggering the contrast here. >> one thing -- melissa, one thick to keep in mind. ford was tightly tied in with the chip supplier that had a fire that brought down part of the foundry. they were directly impacted by that that's not to say that they didn't sell to other automakers as well, but that's a big part of why ford is taking a hit. >> phil

backlog, i think it's going to continue through third quarter and the rest of the year. >> jim, jim cramere reviews about your call and obviously much has gone right. ebitda spin, 12 to 13, it sounds much better now, how much can this thing make? >> it can, jim, i think, as we came out of spend, we thought the bottom end was 6 billion, and last year you could see in a trough-a covid-induced troufb, we were at 5.6 billion, and we stress tested that number and the top end we said 12 to 13 billion. additionally today what we talked about on the show is we have a series of incremental growth projects some of which started up in the first quarter which we think will add a billion to our core earnings through the cycle. and so they will start coming up, and we'll bring them on this year, and the next several years. we took cap ex for growth, we increased cap ex this year to 1.6 billion, our depreciation level is 2.2, i think we can steadily march it up to that level, and start to see these lower capital, higher return, faster payback projects add to our bottom line. i mentioned on the call, i th
