jim cantore is standing by and we begin our coverage with meteorologist eric fisher of the weather channel. he's in oklahoma. eric, good evening. >> good evening, brian. here in southeastern oklahoma, we saw some violent storms from thursday evening one coming through thch community. it's a small town, about 350 residents that live here. when a tornado of this magnitude comes through it affects everyone in the community and those storms continue to rumble tonight. >> a large tornado crossing the highway in front of us. >> storm chaser footage shows one of nearly a dozen tornados that ripped through overnight. this twister killed two elderly sisters. high school students huddled into a storm shelter as it tore through the building and picking up school buses and flipping them on their sides. >> it looks like somebody came and stepped on it. >> all the students survives, but seniors, three weeks from graduation, wonder where they'll stand. >> i don't see the possibility of having schools in these buildings again. >> reporter: at one point, the system dropped three tornados side-by-side. >> w

fisher from tushka, oklahoma. >>> down to tuscaloosa, alabama which received a direct hit from one of the tornados. seven people are dead there. jim cantore joins us live from there. good morning. >> good morning, lester. you can see some of the damage here that's sprewn all across alabama. power pole snapped off. huge trees bent over. at the same time, trees behind that still left standing. the skipping nature of the tornadoes very, very apparent here in the tuscaloosa area today. from what we've seen which is the most amazing to me over the the last couple of days is the long track of these storms. let's take you back to clinton, mississippi, yesterday. you can see what happened there. this was a huge tornado. probably an ef-3. winds over 150 miles per hour here which moved through, but the same supercell or parent storm of thunderstorms that produced that tornado tracked all the way across mississippi and across alabama. 200 miles and produced the damage that we have here in tuscaloosa. the day before that, again, another wild-looking tornado. this is what we call a multi-vortex tornado. the two twin tornadoes rotating around e

jim miklaszewski at the pentagon this morning, thank you. >>> the deadly storms that have rocked a big portion of the nation's midsection this week are intensifying this morning. the weather channel's eric fisher is in west memphis, arkansas. they're expected to be hit for the third straight day. good morning to you. >> reporter: good morning, matt. no hot summer day required. we have seen tornado warnings from arkansas to mississippi, alabama, tennessee, and georgia already this morning. a dynamic system that's been working its way through. it's already left damage from the last few days and we are not over yet by a long shot. >> yeah. it's all the way. >> reporter: this has become an all too common sight this month. tuesday from texas to tennessee, twisters through the south and midwest. [ sirens ] >> reporter: in texas, sirens blared as the skies opened up, dropping funnel clouds like this one. >> amazing. >> reporter: severe weather also rocked mississippi where violent winds tossed heavy debris and created something of a dust storm. >> it's not looking good. >> reporter: in gould, arkansas, two storm chasers were trapped in their car by the deafening hail. >> heard a big crack. >> reporte
