i talked to jim moran and he said don't pay attention to 2009 when bob mcdonnell won northern virginia where they took control of the state senate. what you should really concentrate on is this much larger turnout every four years that helps with the core constituencies, young people, african americans and most of all, an emerging group, hispanic voters who overwhelmly favor obama, but you're right. it's kind of dicey. somewhere obama is popular in northern virginia but maybe in the rest of the state allen will appeal and then he'll make the case that look, tim kaine even if he's not attached to barack obama, you wouldn't independent voice. he can't -- want an independent voice and he can't be an independent voice. >> i found it rather interesting tim kaine will attend the democratic convention and george allen will not be attending the republican convention. should we read anything into that? >> i'm not surprised, but very embarrassing for tim kaine if he didn't as the former chairman of the dnc, former mayor of richmond. he's got to do it and i'm sure he's going to try to separate hi
