jim, i have a copy of the letter that kristen obtained, that cnn obtained. and it's interesting because at the bottom the letter is written by emily murphy, administrator, u.s. general services administration. it's addressed to the honorable joseph r. biden, jr., the president-elect of the united states. but it's cc -- take a look at the bottom. among those who got copies of this letter mark meadows, chris lindel, a legal advisor over there, edward coffman from the biden team. so the white house knows about this. are you getting any reaction at all? >> wolf, we're reaching outright now. but if mark meadows, the chief of staff, has been cc'd on this, that means the white house has been notified and this process is underway. this is the process a lot of americans have been waiting on for weeks now, and it appears it's going to get started now as kristen holmes was just reporting. i can tell you talking to a trump advisor just a short while ago that the writing was on the wall when this decision came out of michigan that the board of state canvassers there was going to certify the results for joe biden in that state. and even this latest news out of pennsylvani

jim and poppy. president-elect biden and his team officially now have that green light for the transition process to begin after the gsa administrator emily murphy sent that letter to the transition team last night. what this does is it opens up a host of transition resources that biden and his team can now access. from everything from millions of dollars of funding for the operations to i.t. help and also office space, but there's also critical components of the transition process that can now get under way, such as the agency review teams who can actually start going in and talking to trump administration officials as they're trying to get a look under the hood of what is going on at these agencies and departments while they're crafting their own plans. one thing the biden transition team is hoping to get some early access to is the coronavirus data and a look at what the trump administration has been planning for this pandemic as well as for the distribution of a vaccine. that is something biden and his team has really been pressing on for the past few weeks as they want to get access to that information while they are crafting their own plan
