first things i learned when i entered private practice after watergate, i was working on a came with jim neil who was the senior lawyer during the watergate trial for the special prosecutor and he said, never tell the court that you don't know for a fact. you say my client informs me that, you protect yourself. you never want to be deceptive. you never want to lie to the court. again, either didn't know the truth or that's what his client tells him. why are they stratogizing about what to say. the truth is the best thing to say and then you don't have to worry about it being contradicted later on. >> matt miller was a justice department official and has this tweet out this morning and he says essentially that we're so used to potus not telling us the truth we jump to, is it a crime? what a sad standard? >> that is a valid point, however, this particular comment that the president made through don jr. is itself uniquely important to questions about mueller's investigation in large part because i had a conversation this morning with a former federal prosecutor who has worked on a number of obst
