i will always believe charter reform succeeded because of what jim newton did. a few years ago, he mentioned to me he was planning on taking time off to do a biography of earl warren. i thought it was a great idea, and then i had a chance to read the book and without a doubt, it was the best traditional biography i had ever read, so i'm thrilled he was able to join us today, and i ask for your help in welcoming him.
