bring in jim and scott. what do you make of the chart looking at the ten year? seem to me unlikely that yields would come and knock on lows three different times. these two 45 lows as run away. if the stock market turns tail, heads agrossively lower like last week, taking yields bow low 245. i think the stock market correction is not over and giving lower yields in the ten year short term. >> scott, abigail talks about another sign when you get the death cross in the ten year, which we have. the 50-day moving average, below the 200 day moving average, a correction in stocks. do you see signals that might be over from that correlation now? >> bertha, interesting that the first half of the yearing tos and bonds head in the same direction for the same reason. fed made it easy. seeing them now diverge. i would much rather be a stock seller than a bond buyer here and why is that? because stocks can go down for any number of reasons and bornds are going to go up for one reason. holding up my index finger. vladimir putin giving the world a different finger. >> yeah. a

of rates is still going to remain low because of these reasons for a long period of time. >> jim, back to scott>> joe terenova, you got a question? >> i do. back to scott's question before regarding the significant outflows that we saw in july, it seems to me that investors utilize high yield as a proxy for their belief that the equity market is going to go down. do you believe that's accurate? do you think that's mistaken on their part? >> i don't think it's necessarily a proxy. i think it's about the correlation. i mean, if you think about the high-yield market, it's generally still tied towards the health of corporate cash flows. it is lending to credits that are in the riskier end of the spectrum, right? and so the same fundamentals that would drive equity multiples, the certainty of future cash flows are the same fundamentals that are going to drive whether or not the corporate high-yield space is going to be healthy. so when you saw the markets sell off and spreads gap and outflows happen, they were very similar to the correlations of why the equity market was selling off and you saw a pu

let's go to scott in colorado. >> caller: hey, jim, i have a question about price tar gets. when an analyst sets a target price how does that fit in my planning for evaluating stocks and when does that target expect to be fulfilled by the analysts? >> one of the reasons why i'm neutral is because these analysts as the stock goes down, they keep making their price targets lower and as it goes up they make them larger. it isn't that valuable. what i find valuable is what they think the stock is going to earn. and then we try to apply a multiple to it. so the key thing is the earnings estimates in the future. that's why stocks trade where they do. profits. and then we can figure it out on a case by case basis. don't use the price targets. steven in california. >> caller: hey, booya to you. >> booya back. >> caller: i had a stock with a reverse stock split. are they trying to make it more interesting for other companies or are they just trying to save money? >> no. it's a great question. what they're trying to do is save embarrass. citigroup did this. they felt a stock that was
