for more on what that means for parents and some advice, jim steyer with common sense media joins us. what is the issue here? >> well, the issue here today, a new study came out from consumer reports this week that said that 7.5 million kids under the age of 13 are on facebook now regularly. >> and that is something that facebook has actually said they prohibited. >> that's correct. facebook says there's nobody under the age of 13, and there's supposed to be nobody under the age of 13 on facebook. this is a huge issue, okay? >> now, why is it a problem? >> well, it's a problem because facebook is a platform that people under the age of 13 shouldn't be on. i would argue there are many kids over the age of 13 that shouldn't be on facebook either because of some of the implications. >> what are those? >> social, emotional development, psychological issues that develop when you're constantly comparing yourself to somebody. >> yes, people say facebook causes depression. >> yes, huge privacy issues, issues around harassment and cyber bullying. so there's enormous issues about this platform
