big question is how does the head coach, jim zorn, feel? i recently got a chance to sit down with the head man and we chatted about everything. especially the man who counted on to lead his offense, jason campbell. that pair of second-year wide receivers he's counting on heavily this year. is it fair to say that this team will go as far as campbell will carry them? >> he's absolutely a key ingredient. you know, i would never rest a whole season on the one player's i shoulders. that would be awful. i'm not going to do that. he is a key iredient and i think he will have a great season. my outlook for him is -- you know, upbeat and, you know, i suspect he will be better in his second year in this offense than he was in his first year in this offense. >> he certainly was a top hot button topic entire offseason. no secret that you guysensly tried to replace him by working out a trade for cutler potentially maybe drafting mark is an. you decided to keep him informed throughout the process, address him directly. and instead of not communicating wi

there were things that jim zorn saw last night that gave him confident that jason is ready to go. zorn backed him up saying only one of those attempts was poorly thrown. one of the most impressive performances came from a quarterback you wouldn't expect. the rookie from missouri was fun to watch. he scrambled for 22 yards through two touchdowns. we're at fedex field and jason campbell said he wanted the first team to get points on the board. first play on the game, jason campbell in control, drops back, takes the shot downfield. once he sees his target he went deep but the pass was broken up. campbell went one for seven ten yards. zorn said he had good zegs making. third quarter, rookie quarterback, chase daniel made the most of his first game. connecting with fellow rookie the 6'4" receiver hauled it in. tight end fred davis by the way out of the dog house on special team, punner to punter sends it downfield. look at this. the steelers get it and the ball stripped away by fred davis who had fumbled twice in the first game. he said that feeling was worse than he had ever known. th

the head coach jim zorn says somebody will have to step up. tonight malcon kelly will be the team's third wide receiver. kelly battled knee problem most of his rookie year but says it is not a problem right now. and he continues to show flashes during training camp. right now kelly is behind fellow second-year receive devin thomas who will start in place of santana moss. moss has been limited because of a hamstring issue. thomas battles injuries during his rookie season and for much of training camp this year. the coaches say his work ethic and performance is light years ahead of where it was. now he must perform. >> i think it is going to be a learning curve, you know, with everybody. first time out there as a team playing fu speed tackle. besides the scrimmage. i mean, this is going to be a chance for it to come together. >> it is going to be good. you know, i think really being -- i think that people started asking me, you know, as far as are you sitting out because your knee doesn't feel good? precaution. a long season. make sure i'm healt
