he did disclose that jimmy lam used to stolen guns. one a mac 10 which was stolen in utah and also a semi automatic pistol which was stolen in napa. they found the backpack with a round of ammunition and they told us that only the mac 10 was used in the shooting. this mac 10 held 20 rounds in a magazine. as for how jimmy lam was able to get the weapons into a secure facility , police would only say those rest with ups. >> have you guys determine how he got into the facility with two firearms? >> jimmy lam is an employee of ups and was in the building for employment purposes. any information that we have as to where he came in and the security and the magnetometers are video information is best answered by ups.>> reporter: police also added they executed a search warrant at jimmy lam's home. i did ask if there was some sort of a manifesto and they wouldn't get into those details of the investigation. one thing that was interesting, police said they are morning with ups community. many of those drivers deliver packages here to the police

he was 38-year-old jimmy lam of san francisco. stina joins us live in the city's richmond district where lam rorptd lee lived. >> reporter: we can tell you we are in the inner richmond here in front of a home that's listed for a jimmy lam. there was heavy police presence here on the 300-block of 4th avenue. it was around 3:30 this afternoon that we saw police leaving this home with bags of evidence. they were carrying a computer tower as well as filings of boxes that they believed to come from the home possibly owned by lam. the evidence put in the back of trunks and then the cars drove off. neighbors told us that lam was a very quiet person, a low key guy and are really shocked by what's happened today. >> it's really creepy that people next door have the ability to have guns and shoot people that they work with. i don't feel safe. >> very safe for the people who got killed but it's very shock to see something that you never expect. >> reporter: sources tell us that lam worked at ups since 1999. the 38-year-old was also described
