[ cheers and applause ] ♪ ♪ ♪ at 11. two breaking stories, the first in san jose's willow glen neighborhood. a deadly hit and run. police say a man was hit by a car near bird and co just before 9 p.m. that man rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. as for the driver, that person took off. a stretch of third avenue northbound is closed as officers investigate. also breaking at this late hour, a heavy police presence outside the union city bart station. that bart station is currently closed. trains are not stopping there. we don't know exactly why bart is only saying it's because of police activity. we will update you on new information as soon as we learn it. our other top story this evening, the first big storm of the season, an atmospheric river is headed our way. you can see it right there on the satellite. a lot of rain coming in and fast. let's get right to our chief meteorologist, jeff ranieri for this updated timeline.
