. >> yeah, jimmy stewart. >> that's right. jimmy stewart who was a bomber pilot.u take -- and i've worked with literally thousands of soldiers. i had 30,000 people in one of my commands. they are patriotic. they want to be down the middle. they want to be part of the band of brothers. how do you take the military there today only 1% of our population and use them correctly without using them as a sop? >> yeah. >> which is being done by an awful lot of the liberals today. >> i think that first of all, it would take a game changing shift in the mentality of hollywood. let's put it this way. the last cause they mobilized for in force, the same way for world war ii is for the obama campaign. that's how liberal they are. i think the military itself, by the way, has moved away from the idea of using film as a medium. it used to be that the military itself would be involved in doing this sort of stuff. yeah, now the military is not involved at all. now the military doesn't want any part of it. because the military is afraid that the media is going to call it propaganda.

sometimes you don't know it because it's not like jimmy stewart where we're always talking and monopolizingg about libya. we said we wouldn't. so yesterday they scheduled a vote to force it to go to libya and away from the debt ceiling and we got enough votes y ed to win a victory and they canceled the vote. now we want them to talk about the debt ceiling. so tomorrow we'll be releasing our solution for the debt ceiling. we, some of the most conservative members of the senate and house will raise the debt ceiling contingent on three items -- we want significant cuts, statutory caps like pay as you go and we also want a balanced amendment. if we get these, we'll agree to raise the debt ceiling. >> okay, i know that both sides are pretty far apart. there's just a basic disagreement on how you fix the problems of the country, how do you stimulate the economy. how do you do things, which comes first? would you accept piecemeal? if you had, say, the be the comes out and says, i will -- i'll agree to a balanced budget amendment if you get rid of in first and then let's sit down and talk about it?

. >> jimmy: like, give me an example. >> well, okay. jon stewarthat, like, he majored in chemistry in college. so i had to ask him the geek question -- did he have a favorite element. and he said -- yes, he did. he said carbon. so i said well, why? he said because it's the slut of the periodic table.
