off-duty americans are watching a festive parade, including a modern joan of arc. there is a french band as fancy as one of our own, needing it out for the marching men of france. now into the square comes an american unit, one very much on duty. bringing forth throughout, and then into the heart of town, and into the hearts of frenchman march the men come up paying their respect to the memory of joan of arc. over, but theis festivities continue throughout the city. an off-duty soldier may run into a street carnival. he feels right at home. the same kind of kids having a great time, the same atmosphere. and they even have many of the same rides as the carnivals back home. why not go all out? there are always souvenirs to send home to mother and dad. furlough, as to a stretch of time off time, the soldiers of print -- soldiers of france will always head to paris. left bank or right bank. the soldier will do top to bottom, and no better place to start than the top of the eiffel tower. luckily he won't have to climb. there is an elevator to speed him upward. going up.
