he was there along police chief tony chaplain and fire chief joanne hayes white. were a number of volunteers on hand to help carve up all those birds. 1200 pounds of turkey for the meals that will go out tomorrow. members of the san francisco police department here. also volunteers who are fire cadets with the san francisco fire department. they actually are going through a training course at city college in san francisco. they're preparing 4,000 meals that will be hand-delivered to people in need in this community tomorrow on thanksgiving. we talked with the mayor and the two chiefs about their techniques when it comes to carving. >> someone asked my technique. i've been doing this for a number of years at salvation army. i got great tips early on at the fire house. we've got great chefs. i wasn't a great cook when i came in. i learned some techniques. >> that's why salvation army, they've got so many outlets. people know they have a safe place, warm place. hot chocolate, turkey. a good meal. a lot of people are in need. >> not everybody is sharing in this boomin
