live in spring garden, i'm joanne pileggi, fox 29 news. back to you, dawn. >> reporter: joanne, thank yo you. >>> tonight police in newark, delaware, have this guy behind bars for an ax attack. police say 18-year-old brandon bryant assaulted someone in his home yesterday on white clay drive. victim told police that he went for a visit to friend at the home when all of a sudden bryant attacked him. he is going to be okay. bryant now facing serious charges. >> altercation with police leads to major drug bust. it happened about 11:30 last night wilmington police were called to a home in the 300 block of east 23rd street for suspicion activity. that's where officers encountered 25-year-old rydell mills. police say mills attempted to get away and when they tried to stop him, a struggle ensued. one officer sprained an ankle. ultimately mills was detained and police found 44 grams of crack cocaine and about half gram of heroin. >> we're following developing story out of finland. a man goes on a stabbing spree. what police are saying about the atta

fox 29's joanne pileggi talks to a victim. >> reporter: it happened at this spring garden sunoco. the skimming device was discover this morning. police don't know yet how many people were scammed. >> police and sun know investigators figured it out. someone tampered with at least one pump at the gas station at 23rd and fairmount. yanni, who lives and works in spring garden says he used his debit card at the pump and then -- >> went to make a transaction and it wouldn't go through. said i had four dollars in my bank account. >> reporter: yanni noticed police and sunoco truck at the station then put it altogether. >> i went and checked my bank on the application on on the phone it told me there was like 90 or 100 bucks pending. i was like what the hell is this? >> reporter: skimmer incident at the sunoco is under investigation by the major crimes division. sunoco representatives confirm an employee found the skimming device like the one in this photo at the pumps this morning. >> i'm assuming that's wham. somebody scamming through the pump. >> reporter: police are reviewing surveill

fox 29's joanne pileggi joining us in west chester with more on this elaborate scheme. joanne. >> reporter: that's right, dawn. police say this case illustrates just how dangerous drug traffickers can be. they say the alleged dealer hatched an elaborate murder for higher scheme right from his prison cell here in chester county. it all started with a routine traffic stop. 29-year-old christopher pickard of state college was pulled over in chester county a couple of weeks ago. >> the defendant was pulled over and stopped, and found with 813 baggies of heroin. pretty significant a heroin he's mid level heroin dealer. >> reporter: pickard was busted for potion. there was a passenger in his car who was not. pi car was taken to the county prison. >> while he was sitting in prison, he decided that the passenger must have been cooperating against him with the police. >> reporter: and then -- >> so we got a tip from inside the prison that the defendant was looking to hire a hit man to kill the victim. >> reporter: cops set up a sting and used an undercover to pose as a potential

our joanne pileggi joining us live outside philadelphia city hall where people rallied in response tot was going on in virginia. joanne. >> reporter: well, dawn, a group is expected to march and rally here at city hall this evening in response to the violent rally in charlotte charlottesville, virginia ton night a virginia state police spokesperson saying "it was not a good day for charlottesville and from all appearances that is an understatement on many leve levels. >> it was build as a white nationalism event taking place in charlottesville, virginia and from the onset, there was tension and chaos. erupt flood extreme violence. between supporters anti, protesters and law enforcement. >> we were hoping it would not elevate to this level of the violence we witnessed amongst participants. in the crowds on all sides they were throwing bottles, throwing soda cans with settlement in them, they were throwing paint balls, um, they were fighting, breaking out attacking one another. >> reporter: the governor declaring a state of emergency and police in yi riot gear ordered everyone to leave

fx 29's joanne pileggi joining us live now from the crime scene in colwyn. anne. >> reporter: joyce, there's still some leftover police tape here at this intersection marking what was a violent event in this neighborhood. three shot, two are dead and police are looking for a saturdays suspect. let's get to the pictures. this was the scene last night around 10:45 at south fourth and walnut in colwyn. a group of young adults we are told and teenagers had apparently gathered here and things took a turn for the worse. when it was over, three people hd been shot. a 16-year-ol 16-year-old an 20-d suffered fatal gunshot. a third a-15-year-old, was shot in the arm. now police want to find this man shown here on a still from a corner. police believe he is the shoot shooter. a woman i spoke with describes what she heard and saw. >>> looked like the kids were doing a fight and then this one boy just came up and just take a gun out and start shooting everybody. >> i thought it was fireworks. >> you thought it was fireworks? >> yeah. >> reporter: well, if it was fireworks

let's get right out to fox 29's joanne pileggi live at the accident investigation division in north philadelphia. joanne? >> reporter: hey, dawn, chris, the truth usually comes out. doesn't it? and this time once again surveillance video captures the jeep want police are calling a person of intere interes. now, police here just wrapped up a news conference giving us some details on their fatal hit-and-run investigation. this is as you're seeing right now the person of interest. allegedly involved in a fatal accident in center city earlier this week. police believe this man was driving this newer model white four door jeep wrangler near 13th and race streets around 3:20am sunday morning. the car struck a pedestrian who happened to be crossing at the time. the woman, the victim identified as 53-year-old ann brodrick was hit. she died about an hour later at the hospital. her friends told us she was homeless but very well known in the area. now, police say the driver didn't stop. but they say he apparently stayed in center city for a time after the fatal accident. the vehicle captured on surveillanc
